It’s not of tequila shots (though we took more than enough of them), the pinata breaking or the awesome buffet line – but this video, from the fiesta at Playa Grande on Sunday, is still pretty cool. Our hosts brought out authentic Mexican dancers who did some traditional, interpretive and fire dancing. Here’s a short video of part of the dance:
I’ve now seen traditional dancing done in two completely different cultures. I was thinking about this while watching the performance at the fiesta. Dancing in Ireland and Mexico, along with the music, costumes and props, are completely different. Yet both are totally enticing and beautiful. I hope, as I continue to travel, to keep experiencing different cultural traditions. What experiences should I definitely put on my list for the future?
